ChemCentre’s analysis value more than numbers

ChemCentre’s analysis value more than numbers

Date Published: 31-Oct-16

Delegates at the 2016 Ecoforum Conference and Exhibition in Fremantle this week had a chance to see the skills and expertise that make ChemCentre stand out from the crowd when it comes to chemical analysis. The Ecoforum is the biennial conference of the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association and ChemCentre’s Business Development Manager Stuart Rietkerk was on hand to promote ChemCentre’s services.
“ChemCentre provides a range of services in mining, environmental, oil and gas, water quality and LEAF (Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework) tools that are relevant to consultants and industry representatives attending the event,” Stuart said.

“We provide many value-adds for clients due to our high level of expertise across these services. As an example, our Lead Petroleum Chemist, Leif Cooper, was also at the Ecoforum presenting a poster on his recent case study work determining the nature of hydrocarbon contamination.”

Leif’s hydrocarbon contamination case study work was also the subject of a presentation he recently gave at the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry conference in Hobart.

“The hydrocarbon case studies work clearly illustrates ChemCentre’s point of difference from many other commercial laboratories,” Stuart said. “While there are many commercial laboratories that can provide basic analyses of various contaminants and samples, few – if any – have the level of expertise required to interpret the data in a meaningful way to provide legally defensible, scientifically justifiable evidence.

“No two samples are ever exactly the same, and our chemists understand where the differences are and their relative importance. Clients can communicate directly with our chemists and analysts, so they receive that depth of knowledge and expertise firsthand.

“The chemical analysis business tends to be very price sensitive, and ChemCentre’s competitive niche is where the long term implications of the data analysis and interpretation are being considered by the client. Our interpretation provides clients with site-specific data that is more than just a number, leading to more relevant site remediation plans and, ultimately, lower overall project costs.”
